National Wolf Awareness Week 2011

The educational part of the National Wolf Awareness Week 2011 took place from 15th to 16th October 2011 in the ZOO Olomouc. We explained to visitors how important is the role of wolf and other predators for retaining healthy ecosystems in our nature. The weather was really nice, so many people visited our Wolf's stand.

Our skull replicas were the real attraction, mainly for kids.

The visitors asked us for many things, e.g. how wolves are being captured in wild, if the one can keep a wolf privately, how to behave in case of encounter with a wolf or a bear, if grizzly bear has really such big footprints and many others. The most common question was "How many wolves lives in wild and where in Czech Republic?".

The visitors donate us totally 368 CZK. This amount will be transferred to ZOO's account as a sponsorship for breeding Hudson bay wolves. Big thanks to all donators!
