Another National Wolf Awarenes Week at the Olomouc Zoo is now in the books! The cooler weather and a few rain showers meant a bit fewer visitors than in past years, but we still managed to raise 1,150 CZK and 1 Euro to support the wolves living at the zoo. Thank you so much for your support!

Over the weekend of May 31 – June 1, 2025, Olomouc Zoo hosted our 12th annual National Shark Awareness Week, held in celebration of World Oceans Day.

We were thrilled with the strong turnout and grateful for the many kind words from visitors, who described our exhibit as both engaging and informative.

Last weekend the Olomouc Zoo hosted our educational event for wide public, the National Wolf Awareness Week. Especially young attendees were thrilled to explore fascinating exhibit items like animal skulls, feathers and pictures of wolves. The event also featured a charitable aspect, visitors donated CZK 1373 to support breeding of Hudson Bay wolves who occupy the enclosure in front of the booth.

The eleventh National Shark Awareness Week, held for you at the Olomouc Zoo, is already over. Even though both weekend days were accompanied by frequent and sometimes very heavy rain showers, they did not dampen the curiosity and interest of the (mainly) children's visitors in our rich exhibition in any way. The total sum of small donations CZK 1300 was transferred to the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme. The Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme (MWSRP) is a research-based conservation charity dedicated to studying the whale shark and fostering community-focused conservation initiatives in the Maldives and the greater Indian Ocean.

The 12th year of the National Wolf Awareness Week at the Olomouc Zoo is sucessfully behind us. Our rich and attractive exhibition drawn the attention of many pass-by visitors, some of them also contributed to local Hudson Bay wolf breeding. The total amount of contributions is CZK 690.
